The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) observes that by Mar2020, about 166 nations were necessitated to undergo countrywide closures, lock-downs resulting in an unprecedented impact on almost 87% of population of education goers, numbering about 1.52 billion.
In India, as per reports, about 320 million students have been affected. But, the various education boards are taking measures to ensure that the students are not forced to forgo their academic year despite the situation affecting all major cities, towns and slowly spreading into villages of the country.
